Understanding the Need

The challenges faced by our veterans are numerous and complex. Many veterans return home only to find themselves battling new wars—unemployment, homelessness, and mental health issues. The statistics are sobering:

Approximately 11% of the adult homeless population are veterans.
On any given night, there are around 40,000 homeless veterans in the United States.
Veterans are 50% more likely to become homeless than other Americans due to poverty and lack of support networks.

At CU360, we recognize the urgency of this crisis. Our goal is to bridge the gap by providing immediate assistance and long-term solutions. Through our partnerships with local businesses and community members, we strive to offer veterans the support they need to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society.

Community Unity 360 (CU360) is on a mission to purchase and renovate the historic Allsboro Junior High School in Cherokee, Alabama. Built in 1937 through President Roosevelt's New Deal Grant and closed in 1982, this landmark holds a rich history and stands as a symbol of resilience and community spirit. Our vision is to transform this historic building into a cornerstone of support for veterans and community members alike. Located on the Alabama-Mississippi border, this facility will enable us to offer essential services to displaced veterans, including housing, job assistance, mental health support, and more. We are committed to raising $100,000 to bring this vision to life, ensuring that the renovated school serves as a beacon of hope and healing for those in need.
